Hi! I'm back.
Nature is amazing. I took these, over edited perhaps, shots during the last week of summer. I went to Alberta to visit with my in-laws. The first photo is of Mt. Robson. The second and third photos were taken at Waterton National Park. Even though I like how these photos look, there is nothing like seeing it with your own eyes. I don't have much to contribute in the way of making you think today; I just wanted to share these photos with you.
Honestly, I can't think of anything more to type. These photos and the memory of being at these locations bring up a fondness that can't be described. Nature is amazing.
Since you mentioned editing, I think a cool project would be to take these photos and put them through lots of different filters and get kids to compare them, talk about how each edit changes the way they view a photo.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a nice drive East from PG. I went to Mount Robson this summer with a few exchange students from CNC and for the first time ever saw the entire mountain! I have probably been there 13 times in my life... it worked out perfectly having all the foreigners with me! When I was in elementary school we did a camping/hiking trip to Mount Robson and it was so neat, great way to tie in the environment and life skills into teaching.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea to try photo editing with these, Evan, and for sharing your memory connection to one of these spots, Heather. I agree, Alex...nothing like seeing it with your own eyes. But do the photos help you remember what you saw? Lots of painters work from photos...did you think about drawing/painting a scene from any of these? Today, I would pick the water and rocks.
